American soldiers do whatever it takes for American civilians to be safe. Therefore many actions were taken into place to keep America the land of the free. The first bomb, dropped on the city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, resulted in a death toll of around 135,0000(Emma Mason). The second, which hit Nagasaki on August 9th,, killed at least 50,000 people, and there was estimated as many as 74,000 died (Emma Mason) In World War II the U.S had dropped atomic bombs on Japan to prevent the consequence from being as severe as it would've been if the action of the bombs wasn't put in place. It was surely a reasonable choice for the United States military to take. The government had prevented the war from being as bad as it could've been. President Harry Truman’s decision to use the atomic bombs against Japan definitely saved many lives. The USA was more interested in a quick and easy end to the war. Instead of causing untold suffering (James Bowen). The United State had in their hands a weapon that was capable of bringing the war to a swift end, and so they used it. They replaced thousands of US bombing missions that would have been required to achieve the same effect of the two bombs that, individually, had the explosive power of the payload of 2,000 B-29s (Christian Palmieri). This gave the United States Military more resources that they could elsewhere in the war efforts. The bombing act then had led to there being way less deaths than if the atomic bombs were to have been not dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved the most lives by demonstrating to the world the horrors of atomic warfare. This act had then impaired the Japanese from attacking
