What choice would seem better, an immediate reward or wait a bit longer for something better? Most people would choose the short term reward. Impulsivity is a thing everyone has and can affect how people act. It can be influential on people's actions that could later affect their future. Risks people often take can include suicide or doing something dangerous. Impulsivity mostly influences people during times of crisis by resulting in uneducated actions and risk taking. People may make hasty,fast uneducated actions that may seem good now but in the long run are not good. Most people have ADHD and impulsivity is one of the main effects of having it. However some people may beleive that impulsivity does not affect the amount of suicide rates by teens. The world health mental organization, an accredited source states that suicide rates are caused by disease.They state “The WHO Global Health Estimates provide a comprehensive and comparable assessment of mortality (including suicide) and loss of health due to diseases and injuries for all regions of the world” (1). The WHO group say that the amount of suicide rates are caused by other mental illnesses such as depression. They also state that diseases and injuries are also a cause for some suicides. However this argument is wrong because the amount of gun suicide rates go up for young people because they are impulsive and don't spend much time deliberating on what to do. While some people argue that suicides are caused by other factors, impulsivity is a major cause of suicide in teens.Nbc news states that “suicide rates in teens are often impulsive and they spend 10 minutes or less deliberating on what to do”(1). Even though many people think that suicides are because of mental illnesses like depression they are wrong. Most people do something based on an impulse they get from their brain. Impulsivity affects people in ways that they probably don't know about. It can make people take risks that could alter their lives and it can make them make quick decisions that give them a immediate small reward rather than choosing a longer greater reward. Anyone can be affected by impulsivity. Their lives can be altered forever because of one decision they
