While there are many countries on various levels of inequality, there are two countries, Latvia and Costa Rica, which are in an interesting situation. They are similar in terms of development, although Latvia is more developed. However, Costa Rica seems to have less inequality. Latvia and Costa Rica share both similarities and differences in their health, economic, demographic, and education capabilities. In the health department, Latvia seems slightly more advanced than Costa Rica. Although Latvia’s citizens have a shorter life expectancy, their quality of life seems to be better than Costa Ricans. This demographic is exceptional because it possibly demonstrates that people in Costa Rica are well educated. In Latvia, the fertility rate is only slightly lower, at 1.5 child per woman. However, although the fertility rate is nearly the same, their doubling times are nearly complete opposites. In Costa Rica the doubling time is 60 years, but in Latvia the population is shrinking, so there is not doubling time. The halving time is a bit over 67 years, meaning when Costa Rica’s population has doubled, Latvia will have nearly half the population they used to have. Considering Latvia’s current population is only 1,955,000 people, this is something Latvians should be concerned about. By 2090, Latvia will have nearly nobody to work and educate, and the entire government could collapse. in Costa Rica, the population is 4,872,543, a reasonable population for the size of the country. The doubling time is not too high, therefore in this sector of development, Costa Rica seems to be
