I wrote this paper as if I’m just about to graduate and reflecting on all the things I’ve learned. Now that graduation has finally come around, I’ve learned that all the courses I’ve taken have truly prepared me for success in the professional world. These assignments that I once assumed were meaningless and tedious have in some way taught me a skill preparing me for my future. I keep thinking about how in just a couple weeks I’ll be crossing across the stage and shaking all of my previous professor's hands who’ve helped me get to this point. Dating back to my freshman year of high school, I always disliked the idea of volunteering, the concept of helping others and getting nothing in return made no sense to me. So I was really surprised with myself for signing for an internship that focused on mentoring. A friend of mine recommended me to try out this experience and that it would change the way I viewed volunteering. Nonetheless though I had really low expectations going into my first experience with my class room. The first day I showed up, I came up to the class up to the class and I immediately didn’t have a good feeling about it. The class was filled with rowdy, loud kids. I quickly started to debate myself and considering countless ideas of how to get myself out of this class. One thing I did not want to do was stress myself more with an already large course load for no reason. I was running around a small classroom dealing with one kid after another. By the end of the class, I was stressed and mentally exhausted. I hated myself for putting myself through the experience. Annoyed, I left the class heated and was determined not to come back again. After sleeping on it I decided that I should defiantly try again and maybe my experience would change. This times things went differently, being more confident in my skills I was able to ignore the noise and get the attention of the students one on
