26 April 2023 Does Police Brutality Exist in Our Society? Have you ever been a victim of police brutality? While some citizens argue that police officers are doing their job, there is proof and evidence that they are not. I dispute that police brutality does exist in our world. Police officers take advantage of people of color, and they use vigorous violence when it is redundant. According to the Washington post, every 28 hours a colored person who is unarmed is killed by a police officer. We should all recognize police brutality existing in our society for many reasons, as it's something we observe, descry, or experience on a daily basis. Racial profiling, poor training, and individual biases are all

Police forces are judging, and making conjectures, based on an individual's race, religion, culture, or ethnicity. This is causing more disservice to people of color, then keeping them inviolable, due to the color of their skin. Police brutality happens because they suspect a person of color for an offense they didn’t commit based on what color their skin is. It is happening right in front of us, and at times we may not even notice. According to CBC News Canada, black people are 4 to 5 times more likely than whites to be stopped by Montreal police. This should not happen in our world, we should all be treated equally, and this clearly shows this is a dilemma that leads to racial profiling. Racial profiling has been around for decades during slavery, but people fail to recognize this time of history. In 2023, everyone …show more content…
It’s adhered to be one of the main causes of police brutality. Walden University stated that our society questioned multiple times if police departments are hiring biased candidates. There is no real answer whether someone is biased or not but the research states that many police officers have made a biased call at least once in their career. Hiring people that are biased will also lead to police brutality. You won’t know someone is biased until they keep on “repeating” the ways they act towards the “same” group of people. Within the police force, it is shown that there have been many divergent ways, but there seems to be a pattern of the average way individual bias’s take place. The New York Times researchers say officers face lots of demented scenarios, but lots of them made the wrong call due to biased individuals. This being said, police officers aren't doing the right thing they should be doing. They are doing this because they are biased, not because the victims actually deserve
