Many people see the military as just a job or a get away from the real world, they see Soldiers as people with no people skills, and not smart enough to go to college and it is the reason why they join the service. Soldiers chose the Army as a profession, not because the lack of intellect or means to go to college, but because it feels right, it is what they love to do. There is no right answer when they ask me “Why did you choose this profession?” my answer is and always will be “Because I wanted to give back to this country, for allowing my family and me to have a better life”.
The Army as a Profession of Arms, as in any career or profession, they require many years of training and practice. On day one new recruits start learning how to go from being a civilian to an expert Soldier; A fighting force that is skilled and lethal. Being an expert at what they do is one way to earn the respect of others and must always exceed the expectations of our leaders and those whom they protect, the American people and our country.
