John F. Kennedy once, said “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” President Kennedy quoted this to the American people in gaining support for the Vietnam War. Many soldiers join the military not for the money, but for the pride and honor of serving their country. The soldiers may not get paid as much money compared to other careers, but they have a sense of dignity that stands with them all their life for serving in the military. The military should not be paid as much as professional athletes because people who serve will not be as dedicated, they already receive military benefits, and professional athletes do earn too much money.

The government does not need to increase soldiers pay as much as professional athletes pay because then people will sign up for the money. The people signing up to join the military will not have as much dedication. For example, a few professional athletes who earn a bunch of money seem to just go out there and just play for the money. The soldiers also receive 30 days of fully paid vacation. They also receive space a travel-free flights between bases. The military award soldiers with discounts, deals, and health and dental care for themselves and their family. The military personnels receive special deals on home loans and pensions.
