“Official employer designations regarding full-time employment generally range from 30- 45 hours, with 40 hours being by far the most common standard.” Majority of adults make enough money from a job of 40 hours weekly to support themselves. How would you feel if you worked every week for 36 weeks without receiving a single cent for your hard work and dedication? Most people would feel robbed, this what students experience for 12 years. Students should be payed to attend school because it would create an incentive to work harder, it would help eliminate residential poverty, and help students become accustomed to working long weeks. An estimated 13.5% of families live in poverty, having the extra source of income would help reduce the number of impoverished families. Studies conducted by Scilearn.com show that children who live in “stressful environments during early childhood” directly correlates with low academic performance. Low performance in school can frustrate kids and cause them to consider dropping out. Getting paid to attend school will help students get an early idea of how the real world works. Many people argue that paying students to go to school would make students care more about the money than their education, however study conducted by Judy Willis MD show that when students enter a learning environment the brain begins processing all information around them. So while the money may be a present focus to some students they will still be getting the education they need and deserve. Paying students will also acclimatize students to the working world by providing them with early experience with working hard to earn a paycheck. In conclusion, students should be payed to go to school because it creates an incentive to work hard and attend school regularly, it will help decrease residential poverty, and will help students become accustomed to the working
