Should the Drinking Age be lower than 21? Every year the idea of the drinking age is too high or needs to be lowered is pondered by so many people but don’t they know all the facts? But personally I think it needs to be lowered. One reason is they are allowed to do some many other things but not allowed to have a beer. Second is it makes kids drink in secret and sneak around to be able to party which cause binge drinking. Third finally is the accident rating of drunk drivers. In this point I would like to state is that they are allowed other responsibilities but allowed to have a beer. According to procon.org “ Turning 18 entails receiving the rights and responsibilities of adulthood to vote, smoke cigarettes, serve on juries, get married, sign contracts, be prosecuted as adults, and join the military - which includes risking one's life.” Granted at 18 people aren’t allowed to adopt but I see the reason for that is as they are 18 they still need to establish a solid income and household to support a child but if they are able to be tried as an adult, and allowed to make life decisions then they should be able to have a beer to relax. If the drinking age is lowered then they can’t blame it on other people they have to take full responsibility for the buying of alcohol. …show more content…

Procon.org also states that “Prohibiting this age group from drinking in bars, restaurants, and other licensed locations causes them to drink in unsupervised places such as fraternity houses or house parties where they may be more prone to binge drinking and other unsafe behavior.” When they do this it leads to alcohol poisoning, where other students or underage drinkers don’t want to call for help because their afraid their going to get busted. This is teaching kids that’s its ok to not be safe before getting
