Stereotyping people is an act humans do almost everyday unintentionally. When an individual encounters another, the initial response is automatically judging them based on their race, appearance, ethnicity, etc. One tends to make assumptions about the lifestyle of others and create false misconceptions without giving it a second thought even if it’s not accurate. By creating incorrect information without having complete knowledge people tend to misuse the misconceptions and start calling it the truth. Although the stereotypes may be truthful to some extent it doesn’t apply to everyone. These misconceptions are usually formed through the opinions of different groups and the viewpoints often have no hard evidence to support them. Society tends to be highly judgmental and the conclusions are made by the assumptions of the individual one is surrounded by. During school, I had this friend who was a blonde female in my science class who was very intelligent and very shy. She has been the recipient of 4.0 grade point average awards every semester. Her performance in the class was outstanding and she also helped other students in the class such as myself because she was considerate of others. If it wasn't for her help, I probably wouldn't have passed the class. This experience makes me want to resist the review that people tend to have of blonde women. Another personal experience I have had with this group is one of my teachers, Mrs. Larsen, a Civics/Economics teacher at Madera High School. Although she is a blonde women and has been very successful. For one, she is a teacher who is able to pass along her knowledge to her students and also has her masters in social studies. This proves the fact that not all blonde women are associated with the misconstructed
