The dilemmas in the “Allegory of the Cave” and The Matrix revise the idea of what, “real life” is, what the right choices are, and how to make them. The audience understands the concepts given, but they don 't truly understand the differences between the real world and what they know. Yet these characters in both prompts show different ideas, one knowing the truths and the other deflecting the truths. Comparing both the prompts they are very alike in many different ways like; 1.) the shadows and the matrix itself are the same thing, 2.) they deal with knowing what the mind wants them to know, and 3.) the two live in a controlled world. Besides these similarities they have differences as well like; 1.) The Matrix, Neo, comes to accept the truth, whereas in The Allegory the prisoners don 't, 2.) Neo was given a choice, and 3.) The prisoners weren 't given a choice, they were told to believe when they wanted to stay with their own truths. Throughout both prompts you find many things alike and many things different.
