Training Program An effective ethics training program will establish the foundation of ethical conduct, adherence to governing laws and regulations, define clear expectations, and finally a mechanism for accountability. The training will incorporate company policies and procedures, major laws and regulations that impact the business, a training outline with handouts, a position description for the ethics compliance officer and the code of ethics (Anderson, 2015). This training program will be conducted for leadership first and then all employee attendance is mandatory. While the main focus of the audit is adherence to standards, it is also a tool used to identify areas of improvement. “Compliance concerns no longer stop with legal compliance, and now includes industry protocols, licensing requirements, and an array of standards and ethical concerns” (Usnick & Usnick, 2013, p. 311). The goal of the compliance audit is to assist with early identification and quick corrective action. The compliance audit is a comprehensive review of the training program, policies and standards to determine consistency with the organization’s code of ethics. Ethic audits, if done, correctly must capture statistics or data on relevant topics. The results of the audit can be shared with stakeholders to show the transparency of the company and the operations. The frequency of training can also dictate the method. The training will be mandatory for all new employees. It will also be an annual requirement for all current employees. The training manuals will be issued during in-processing and referenced during the annual training sessions. Annual training sessions will be conducted by using the company’s web training course. Initial training will be conducted in a class room setting. Just-in-time training will occur as the need arises to address misconduct or if the compliance audit process identifies any trends of noncompliance. Supervisors are encouraged to conduct informal ethics sessions by using approved scenarios or social media chat boards. Scenarios can only be approved by the ethics training
