The Hunger Games vs. The US The Hunger Games is an adventurous yet somewhat violent trilogy that shows another side of what American government could turn into. The US government is slightly different from Panem’s government, but has similar qualities. Both take place in the United States and have a President, but Panem’s President is president until they die. Where as the US President is president for four years and then there is an election.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as well as The Hunger Games: Catching fire are two films that both belong to the genre of fantasy. The titles of each of the films are also very important as they identify and become synonymous with the film. Both films originate from novels of the same name, despite the similarity amongst both films; there are a number of differences in how both films were made. I will be presenting a number of analogies between both films, paying close attention to casting, costumes, make-up, sets, settings, gestures, facial expressions, movements and cinematographic effects. Recently, I have finished “The Hunger Games” ( book and movie ). They both have a lot of similarities and differences. First off, we start with the similarities. In both the book and the movie Katniss buried Rue in the flowers after the career killed her with a spear. And after that Katniss was crying over her death.
the book and movie are important because they both show the different point of view and have many differences and both show different things. the hunger games have made about three books that are called the hunger games, Mockingjay, and catching fire and there are the same amount of movies that were made In the hunger games, the book version is more exciting than the movie and is better explained and detailed because, the narration in the story is shown through Katniss eyes but another reason that the book is more exciting than the book, and is better explained is because in the book Haymitch, is show a bit different because in the book he is told to walk up on stage, being drunk and took a dive hits the floor. Although, I do not have kids myself I think I would have to agree with Mary Pols that “you should absolutely not take your elementary school aged child to see The Hunger Games” (Pols). Although Ferguson used research studies to justify his opinion, and Pols’ article was more based on emotion, I feel I agree more with Pols’. Kids should watch things that are within their age limit, for example, PG-13 movies are for kids ages thirteen and up; and kids should read within their skill set. Isn’t that why there are age ranges and limits? To make sure kids don’t become traumatized or pick up phobias or come to wild conclusions of things.
In the Hunger Games series, a dystopian future is set up. The government of Panem, The Capitol, holds the wealth of Panem giving it the power to control all districts. In order to enforce this theory, they created the Hunger Games. They suppressed the rights of the citizen’s of Panem and selected their children in order to fight each other do death for survival. These games were created to scare the people and show them who was in charge.

The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins tells a story about a girl whose bravery changed the way people thought about their world. The three grueling challenges that the main character, Katniss Everdeen, had faced show what I believe to be challenging. The first challenge that I have chosen was when Katniss had to provide for her family by hunting in the woods for food. My second challenge that I have chosen was when Katniss and Rue began to form a bond during the games. My third challenge that I have chosen was when Katniss offered the Nightlock berries to Peeta.
“The Hunger Games” contains a lot of similarities and differences. It was easy for a reader to identify more differences than similarities. There is a lot of similarities. For example here i some. Katniss received a mockingjay pin in the movie and novel.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Introdustion to Political Science : Movie Review Anggun Dewi Astuty The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the second movie of The Hunger Games series. The background of the story is dystopian future, where a totalitarian country named Panem was created from post-revolution of North America . Early in the history, there are 13 districts, but District 13 led a rebellion against the Capitol (Panem Government) and lost. It led to the destruction of District 13, and punishment to all of its allies . The punishment comes in a form of oppression and limitation.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a story about Katniss Everdeen who lives in district 12 with her mom and her sister Prim. Her sister gets picked for the Hunger Games which is where each of the 12 districts have to give a boy and a girl from the ages of 12-18 do fight till the death until there is one person standing. This is because there was an outbreak against the capitals thats why there is the Hunger Games. Katniss volunteers do her sister and now has to try and win the games. One theme in this story that is shown is that family love can go along way, this is shown because she is very overprotective of Prim.
