From leading a student-run organization, which specializes in tutoring less privileged children to travelling alone to France to improve my French proficiency, community service and international travel have always been a major part of my activities outside my academic interest in Economics. But it was only after reading Wharton student, Theodore Caputi’s article, “Every College Student Should Try This”, on The Huffington Post that I was inspired to integrate my passion for service and travelling with my academic interests in research and applied learning, in no other place than the best, the Wharton School. In more detail, I would like to apply and practice the Economic theories I learn at Wharton to solve real problems by engaging in college activities and courses in the West Philadelphia community and internationally in other countries.
I am interested in becoming an active member of the community by participating in one of the numerous academically-based community service courses. The course is titled,

By participating in this intensive global modular course I would be exposed to business challenges and opportunities in regions undergoing rapid change like Africa, and earn a course credit in the process. Furthermore, I believe that courses of this nature, reinforce Wharton’s conscious efforts to cultivate a sense of inclusiveness, with the addition of case studies in African countries. This in turn, gives me reassurance I would garner support from my peers and professors as I carry out research on other avenues for the Nigerian government to generate income especially through tax reforms.
