Throughout the course of history, humans have shown that they will trend towards evilness, instead of doing the right thing; evilness has been shown through events like slavery, the terrorist act of 9/11, and further explored through literature, such as in William Golding’s Lord of the Flies.
One Historical event that truly shows evil is the history of slavery.Throughout slavery there was a lot of slave masters mistreating slaves and one powerful quote from a former slave stated.“I look upon it as the climax of all misnomers,the boldest of frauds,and the grosset of all libels' ' (Fredrick Douglass). The slave owners demonstrated pure evil by taking away the slaves from their family and making them suffer by selling them to different countries or different states. The thing i just explained is called the Alantic slave trade. The Alantic slave trade was the selling of African slaves by Europens in and around the Alantic ocean,it lasted from the 15th century to the 19th century so when they got sold they was mostly getting ship from West Africa and brought over to the New World on a slave ship. Inside the slave ship each person occupied a tiny space in the hold, they were also chained up so they couldn’t have any free movements to stretch or to move their body, many people jumped off the boat to escape from that even though they couldn’t swim, they also starved theirself so they wouldn’t have to go through that evilness no more.
