Riley Yates Regan HENGLISH 13 March, 2024. Gatsby’s Eulogy Today. We gather here today to celebrate and recognize the extraordinary life of Jay Gatzby. Gatsby was among the smartest men I had the pleasure of knowing, he was strong, brave, intelligent, and never failed to make a statement whether it be through his business or his grand parties. He had an aura of secrecy and nervousness around him at all times, he liked to keep to himself and many didn’t know him beyond the idea that he hosted grand parties. Gatsby was born into a family where he felt like he didn’t belong, he felt as if he was underappreciated and didn’t need to be there. While their love story didn’t turn out the way anyone wanted, he was still in love with her from the moment he laid eyes on her to the moment he took his last breath. He had an obsession with her that many would call scary, but I believe otherwise. He was the most loyal and dedicated man I ever met, even though I was just an employee. Throughout his life he went through a lot of ups and downs, nothing was handed to him, he had to work for everything he was given, yet, that never stopped him from achieving the best. While Gatsby had a lot, and gave a lot in the lines of business, his parties, his home, he was still one of the most humble men you would ever meet. He had the money, but he didn’t always flaunt it outright, he liked to keep it a secret. I had the pleasure of working with Mr.Gatsby for many many years, he was always calm, cool, collected and never lost his temper. As the years passed by, he became more lenient on what his employees and business partners could do. I was able to work closely with him, and although he had some very shady deals going on, and there were many problems with wires coming through,
