In the play “Anne Frank” takes place in Amsterdam in a building called the Secret Annex. The play took place during World War II because when the dictator, Adolf Hitler, was trying to take Jews to concentration camp, he thought that they were the reason that Germany lost World War I. The Frank’s reason why they went into hiding was because of that Margot, the Frank’s oldest daughter, had a call-up slip for her to be picked by the Nazis so she could be taken to a concentration camp. The Franks were joined by the Van Daans and Mr. Dussel so that they don’t get taken to concentration camps. The Nazis are taking Jews and other religions were sent to concentration camps, so the Franks, Van Daans and Mr. Dussel are trying to hide inside the building of his work which is called the Secret Annex. The explanation of courage is "the ability to do something that frightens one"(google.com). An example of someone who shows courage in the play “Anne Frank” is Mr. Frank. Mr. Frank shows courage because when the building that the everyone was hiding at was getting robbed, and Mr. Frank was the only courageous person to go downstairs and see if the robber had gone away. Another person who shows courage in the play is Miep. I think Miep is courageous because she hid them in the Secret Annex, and is getting them food. Another example of someone who shows courage is Mr. Krawler. Mr. Krawler shows courage in the play because there is a worker who thinks that he remembers the Secret Annex, a loft, and the worker is trying to blackmail Mr. Krawler to get a pay raise. I think that these three characters show a lot of courage because they are risking their lives from getting caught by the Nazis. I can infer this because in the play they are trying to hide from the Nazis so that they don’t get taken to concentration camps, death camps, early camps, state camps, or labor
