But other events lead them to their demise. Lord Capulet and Friar Laurence are the most responsible for what happened in the play Romeo and Juliet. Frain Laurence makes many hazardous plans that lead to dangerous mistakes. First, Friar Laurence decides to marry Romeo to Juliet. In Act II, Scene 4 Friar Laurence says to Romeo “Wisley, and slow, they stumble that run fast” (102-103). When Friar Laurence said this quote he knew that there was a chance that this could be an awful idea, but since he could not see past the fact that this marriage might end the feud, he decides to marry two teenagers that just met the evening before. Second, Friar Laurence gives Juliet a death-like potion. Since the wedding was moved to Wednesday, Juliet runs to Friar Laurence’s cell in desperation, hoping he could save her from marrying Paris. “And in this borrowed likeness of shrunken death.
