In the story "The Locket" I felt many different emotions as I was reading it. I felt the indifferences of the story and noticed some foreshadowing throughout as well as a mischievous joy for the ending. Although only brief it seemed to drag on and on the amount of time, the punish aspect was both aggravating but also interesting to me. Towards ending I felt that it was far from being predictable, but once I read it I had not in fact predicted the ending was so ever. For the ending it seemed to connect so well with all that had happened already throughout the story. I think the major factor in the drawing out and sustaining of the suspense is the fact that I never really read, nor do I know much about "The Locket". Throughout the story many people may think that the idea of the locket will be associated with something very important. As I bounce around throughout the story, many parts contain a lot of foreshadowing that has some irony, especially in Kate's writing. She always has some sort of ironic twist at the end of a story. When Octavie is riding alone with her lovers dad and when he asks her to removing the mourning veil many readers get the idea that there must be some reason behind it. I can not say i was surprised though as i mentioned earlier and yet Kate Chopin wrote the story very well. I also believed that the young soldier had been killed in the battle, i did not see that the locket might have been stolen nor did i believe it had been lost along the way. If i were to pick sides i would choose with Edmond's belief because it had been stolen. Also the first detail led me to think that Edmond might be aliveness that Judge Pillier's mention of miracles. The moment I started to think about what the Judge had mention i had a feeling it the ending was going to be a happy
