Romeo and Juliet In the tragic play of Romeo and Juliet the characters will do anything to be together, even though their families are constantly fighting with one another. Romeo and Juliet’s home lives don’t fit them very well and this causes them to make a lot of impulsive decisions regarding them being together. With the help of Friar laurence, both Romeo and Juliet make choices that result in their untimely death. Romeo’s feelings are constantly changing and he is very impulsive and over dramatic about them. For instance, Romeo claims he was in love with Rosaline hours before meeting Juliet, in whom he falls in love with. According to Romeo he’s never seen such beauty until the night him and Juliet met (Act 1 scene 5 p.392), even though hours earlier he was convinced he would never love someone as beautiful as Rosaline. This proves that he doesn’t think through his actions very well, and switches up really quickly. Romeo also asks himself if he ever really loved anyone until the moment he lays eyes on Juliet, as he says, “Did my heart love till now?” (Act 1 scene 5 p.392). Juliet let’s people talk her into things even though she has a bad feeling about it. For instance during the balcony scene, Juliet wants romeo to leave, therefore she will do anything to make that happen. When Romeo asks Juliet to get married the following day, she is quick to reply because she wants him gone (Act 2 scene 2) it seems like she is doing this out fear instead of love. A similar situation takes place when Friar Lawrence tells Juliet about his plan to fake her own death (Act 4 scene 3). At frit she agrees to follow through with it, but then she thinks it over and starts having second thoughts, but at this time it is already too late to change her
