Hamlet's Insanity The human mind is an extremely sensitive and frail thing. Sometimes when you act like you are something you actually do become it. Insanity is an inky endless hole to fall into.In the play "Hamlet" the lead character Hamlet is in a very terrible situation. Hamlet's amazing father was murdered by his fiendish uncle and after his evil uncle murders his wonderful father he proceeds to marry his weak mother. Poor Hamlet truly is living in an insane situation. So what is Hamlet to do? The most simple and undemanding thing to do is to succumb to the insanity. He claims to just be acting but as the play progresses his act becomes a reality. He begins not only to act insane but to be insane himself. Hamlet says things in his normal speech which would be considered insane no matter how you look at it. Hamlet is insane and he does not even realize it. Hamlet, however, is not the only insane person in the world. Several of the other characters from the play are not very sane. They go to extreme extremes to get what they want as well. For example, there is King Claudius gets his own wife killed and also got both of his two advisors killed. Hamlet is not the only mad man in this play. King Hamlet is murdered, by Claudius, his brother so that he can take the throne. Prince Hamlet is enraged and devastated. Hamlet starts to plot against the new king but his insanity begins to rise. His father appears to him as a ghost, and the ghost tells him that he was murdered by his brother. Hamlet believes the ghost but tries the most complex way to figure out whether to take the life of the king. Hamlet planned on killing the king either ways. All that Hamlet needed was a way to justify the murder. Once Hamlet found a way to feel good about it, he killed the king. Both stabbing King Claudius with a deadly poisoned blade and making him drink poisonous
