Hamlet is emotionally and mentally crazy because of his father’s death and his mother’s very quick marriage to his uncle. “O, that this too solid flesh would melt. Thaw and resolve itself into a dew! Or that the Everlasting had not fix’d. His canon ‘gainst self-slaughter! O God! O God! How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable. Seem to me all the uses of this world!” (Hamlet 1.1.11) With Hamlet being both frustrated, vengeful, heartbroken, hesitant, and full of dark emotions, he slowly goes insane throughout the play with the help from his dead father. Hamlet is crazy, possibly also due to his writer being crazy or even righting about an event is his own life threw the story of Hamlet, or possibly Hamlet is just an example of pure genius. In the play Hamlet, there are 2 characters that show themselves as insane, Hamlet and Ophelia. The both act mad but their downfalls are different. Ophelia’s insanity shows up quite rapidly and eventually commits suicide. Her insanity is never questioned. But that main character’s is a different question. His insanity is caused by pressure and emotional strain he suffered from throughout the play.
