Diversity is generally defined as acknowledging, understanding, accepting, valuing, and celebrating differences among people with respect to age, class, ethnicity, gender, physical and mental ability, race, sexual orientation, spiritual practice, and public assistance status. The world's increasing globalization requires more interaction among people from diverse cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds than ever before. People no longer live and work in an insular marketplace; they are now part of a worldwide economy with competition coming from different parts of the planet. It is also a legal necessity. Employers have an obligation to keep certain information private. Violation of privacy policies could lead to fines, penalties and possible lawsuits. Confidentiality instills trust and encourages sincere consideration of the privacy of others.
LEAD BY EXAMPLE
Employers and employees can display integrity in the workplace through leading by example. When individuals lead by example, they set the foundation for appropriate workplace behavior. Leading by example improves personal awareness, sensitivity to others and accountability which are all necessary for ethical behavior and integrity.
Diversity in culture includes various aspects like account language, religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, age and ethnicity. Companies started to embrace corporate diversity in the early 2000s. This was due to many trends in demographics and a changing workforce. Some of the few trends are as follows:

Foreign executives are extremely successful in the American corporate world because of globalization. People from China and India do well in U.S. based corporate firms with their stellar quantitative skills and European citizens like the Swiss, Germans, British, and French do well in their high-level jobs. Increased productivity is an obvious advantage of diversity in the workplace.
c) New Attitudes
When people from diverse backgrounds come together in a business they bring in new and different attitudes along with them. Our culture believes that “time is money” and “getting to the bottom line” is paramount in business. However, in most other countries around the world “time is for building relationships” and an integral part of getting to know each other whom you’re working with. It would be a great advantage in workplace diversity if we practiced it more
