Avneet Raju ENG3UO-A Ms.Lowe July 8, 2023 Dilemma between Colleen Ballinger and Adam Mclyntyre Non - Bias happens when an author does not use information for his own advantage and profit. In the article, Santa Barbara–Based YouTube Star Addresses Accusations with Ukulele Song Apology a News article written by Ryan P.Cruz is a non - biased article. While some articles intend to be biased, this article is not biased because of all the details provided, perspective and because of the structure of the article. The article is about Miranda Sings, a Santa Barbara-based YouTube celebrity accused of having inappropriate relationships with one of her fans. She apologizes in a 10-minute song. She doesn't name the person accusing her. The person …show more content…

Perspective in the article used by Ryan P.Cruz made his article a credible source. First, the author was honest while writing the article and he didn’t filter any information. The quote “The song, while admittedly catchy and upbeat, doesn’t explicitly address the allegations made by McIntyre, nor does she mention him by name. Instead, the song’s chorus chides the public for “chugging down the tracks of misinformation” on a locomotive “fueled with hateful accusations.”(Cruz 3) proves my point. This quote tells that the author did not filter anything since the author did not try to have a one - way perspective. The quote states that Ballinger misled the audience, where he easily could have hidden this fact and profited from it. But he decided to make a non biased article and present a neutral perspective article. The quote “McIntyre responded to the video during a livestream on Twitch, where he said he couldn’t believe that he never received a public or private apology from Ballinger herself” (Cruz 4) is evidence towards the point. This quote shows non - bias since the author used the teen’s perspective where he did not receive an apology from Ballinger. Ballinger should have gotten into contact and sent a formal apology to the teen rather than doing a public musical video which did not help Ballingar. Moreover, The article supports my argument since it mentioned the perspective through a chat between Ballinger and Mclyntyre, and because of the statement made by Mclyntyre. Providing perspective of Ballingar and Adam Mclyntyre provided the readers about the circumstances and helped the author how to structure the article. Lastly, the article provides a perspective of the public on the youtube video and twitter. The quote “The video created a firestorm of comment videos and Twitter replies, calling the apology “cringe,” insincere, and “a slap in the face” to those who made allegations against her.”(Cruz 4) supports my point. This quote supports my argument since it shows the perspective of Ballingers fans. This quote states that the fans were happy with the apology video. They were happy since they were defending Ballingar and supporting her for realizing her mistake and apologizing for her mistake.
