Many people face hard and challenging obstacles in their lives. How they overcome these hardships determines who they are. If they give up easily or keep pushing forward even though it is difficult, characters in literature are no different. They deal with challenging and degrading situations that prove who they are and what they can do. Many things can help people and characters overcome obstacles, but certain things can push them above and beyond. Characters in literature overcome trials and tribulations by remaining determined and never giving up, even when things get hard.
