Prejudice meaning adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge of the facts, was a huge factor in the novel, ''To Kill A Mockingbird'' by Harper Lee. There were three types of prejudice throughout the book, they are the racism prejudice, gender prejudice and the social classes prejudice. Also prejudice was pretty common thing in the middle 1900's, so be glad you weren't raised then. There are handfuls of examples throughout the book, some of them being very discreet. ''Prejudice is a negative aspect of society that has really showed the world what people can say or do to others.'' The first prejudice type in the novel is racism prejudice. Racism is a the belief that some races of humans are better than others, or treating against someone for their race. Racism happened several times throughout the book, one example being how blacks will never win a court case, more clearly, Tom Robinson, a black man was accused of raping a white women. That right there will almost guaranteed sentence to life in prison. Another court example of racism was the fact that so many white people gave Atticus, Tom's lawyer such a hard time for defending a negro. You learned from the start of the book what each class was. There are four main social class's. The upper class who are people like Dolphus Raymond, the white trash like Mayella Ewell, then the negros, like Tom Robinson, then last the mixed people who are half white and half black, this list is formed from highest liked, the riches, to the mixes who are heavily looked down upon.
