LEAVE YOUR BICYCLES! Utopia is a place where everything is perfect and ideal. On the other hand, Dystopia is envisioned as a state or society that is unfair or a very bad place nobody would enjoy living in. In the novel “The giver” I believe that the community helps us because of these three reasons. Societal Rules help with other peoples doings, being direct, and social connections. People may agree that societal rules may hurt us. This could be because people can be Alexithymia and not not like to talk to other people. Thus, societal rules can help us. Social Rules help with people's behavior. In the novel “The giver” Asher would always apologize in Chapter 2 Paragraph 2 Asher says “I apologize for inconveniencing my learning commu-nity.” Asher was apologizing because he would always be late to class. This improves Asher’s behavior because he will know not to make the same mistake again. To add on, the book of “The giver” was a no emotion book. This can mean Asher did not know what he did wrong, the only thing he knew was to apologize but had no feeling for it. .Another example of why Social Rules help us is because of how they can be direct. …show more content…

In the novel the Ps speaker told the people to go to a nearby safe place due to the aircraft coming. This is directing people because without the Ps speaker the people could have gotten hurt or put in danger because of the aircraft. Everyone had listened to the Ps speaker because they probably did not have any emotion to do anything else. If the speaker did not say anything the people may have just stood there even though the aircraft was coming. Furthermore, directing someone is good for the Social Norms or
