The kkk was flourished in the 1920s because in the 1920s was the time or the renaissance took place and began being popular to move out all of the African Americans because they thought they were beginning to be intellectual. The kkk believed that America was only a home to white christians and that all non caucasian people did not belong in the USA so the kkk members were 100 percent white and christian. The kkk burned barns, houses, and schools that only black people were allowed to go to, and beat black people. The kkk used photos, posters, and videos as propaganda.

The KKK treated the African Americans badly such as they would either drive by and burn down houses and other buildings and in the proces murder tons of African Americans. They would bully and be violent. When a african american tryed to vote they would be beat and bullied and be called names. Even though they were freed they were not actually freed because they could not do anything.
Due to the ratification of the amendments, many southern elites could not stand the fact that African Americans were freed. One solution that was developed was to destroy reconstruction by murdering Black Americans. The Ku Klux Klan was then formed, this group consisted of vindictive Confederate Army veterans. Sought out to be heros to many southern democrats, but a nightmare for African American families. The Ku Klux Klan terrorized many African American families, burned down churches, drove thousands of families out of their homes, and caused great mayhem.
They used modern advertising method to gain 5 million members by 1925. The KKK in this time period were not against only African Americans, but also Catholics, Jews, foreigners, and suspected Communists, due to the Red Scare. They used cruel punishments as tactics to intimidate anybody deemed as “un-American”. From whipping, tar and feathering, and even hanging, the KKK was ruthless.

Imagine people riding on horseback, wearing white hooded robes, beating people in the streets because of their race, and shooting at others. Imagine the terror in people’s eyes as they watched the life get taken from their loved one’s because of a group who believes in a white-dominated society. The Ku Klux Klan is a terrorist group that believes America was only founded for the white race. The KKK murders and beats others because of their race, destructs property, and sometimes sets off bombs. The Ku Klux Klan had an interesting start and has many beliefs and rituals, the KKK is still around today.
The Ku Klux Klan was now one-hundred percent Protestant and was anti-foreign, anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish, anti-Black, and anti-Catholic. The Klan often opposed evolution and old-time religion, supported immigration restriction, freedom of speech and worship, free public schooling, the refinement of politics and purity of women, and also upheld American patriotism. The Klan briefly attempted to be peaceful at times but if that failed they would become extremely violent by kidnapping, lynching, and murdering others opposed to their ideology.
