In chapters 17 through 20 of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, we read the trial of Tom Robinson. He is on trial because Mayella Ewell accused him of raping her. Tom Robinson is innocent because the evidence supports his case, the defendant’s and witnesses’ testimonies are unreliable, and he doesn’t have any motivation to lie. There are a lot of passages in To Kill a Mockingbird that supports my reasoning.
