What does it mean to be an American? Americans have accomplished many great achievements in life. For example, American soldiers are brave and loyal because they fight for our country and stick to their duty. The concept of being a great American is seen in "What is an American?" "I, Too Sing American," and "I Hear America Singing." According to these sources, an American is someone who is lives in America and who overcomes obstacles to make America a better place. An American is also someone who is brave. An American is not someone who judges other people because of their race, culture, or religion. Americans are many great in many ways. A true American is someone who overcomes obstacles to make America a better place. In American we have teachers who spread education; we have doctors and nurses who help people.
