Who was responsible for Romeo and Juliets death? The play that Romeo and Juliet came from was The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. William Shakespear was a brilliant writer who wrote this play. The play is a comedic tragedy, due to the main character's untimely death, but it has comedy in every act. The play was about Romeo and Juliet meeting, falling in love, and dying.The problem with them being in love is their feuding families. The families involved in the feuding were the Capulets and Montagues. The question is who is responsible for Romeo and Juliets death? Is it Romeo himself, is it Tybalt, or is it their parents, or all three. Lord and Lady Capulet were responsible for their child's death. When Lord Capulet threw the party Tybalt was invited. Tybalt was insulted that Romeo showed his face at a Capulet party. He wanted to do something about it right then and there, but Lord and Lady Capulet would not let that happen. They didn’t want him to make a mess at their party. Instead the next day he challenged Romeo to a duel. Instead of Romeo dying Tybalt died and Romeo was banished. Romeo thought it would be the end of him and Juliet. They were both devastated and to be together Juliet drank poison to have a sleep for 26 hours. Romeo didn’t know this and he got drugs to kill himself, and he did so.
