The book of exodus teaches us about the relationship between God and his people. It is a commitment where God promises to protect his people and provide for them, man’s promise is to accept God as their only God and to follow his ways. He used these covenants to teach us how to live our lives. He promised that if we followed the covenants made we would have a guaranteed eternal life in Jesus. The main promise of the book of Exodus is in Exodus 24:8. God’s promise was to be with the people when Moses brings them out of Egypt and protect them, Man’s promise was to follow all the commandments and listen to God. He wanted Moses to be the one who leads them out of slavery and for him to be the chosen one. Moses did what God asked him to and led the people out of Egypt. God’s relationship with Moses was very strong and inseparable. God loved Moses with all his heart and Moses had very strong faith in him. They were always there for each other to help and guide, Moses was told by God to be the leader of his chosen people to teach the people about God’s commands and what he wants these people to do, to follow in his footsteps and get to the next life. To be with them throughout it all and be the one they can trust with everything. To lead them out of Egypt was the main. The Israelites had been enslaved for over 400 years and throughout this time they were whipped, tortured, used to make the pyramids and statues of Roman Gods, cook and clean. The day you were born an Israelite you would officially become a slave, you couldn’t help it and it wasn’t your fault. They were forced to worship the Gods they built but never truly meant it.
