1) How and why did you decide on a career in psychiatry?

I decide to become psychiatrist in medical school. During my clinical rotations in my school i rotated in all specialties, but psychiatry was the one which drew my attention because i felt psychiatry was the branch which goes along with my personality because I love talking to people and try my best to understand them in a proper emapathatic way. Psychiatry gives me opportunity to meet patients and to take care of their life problems, to hear about their inner world. It is tremendous connection with another human being as an indiviual and i believe we get that more in psychiatry than rest of medicine. In Medical school I took care of a man, I remember he came disheveled, paranoid was not talking to any one, was sleeping all day. I thought he will not get much better but he did, a month later he left hospital. Two months later i bumped into him in the hospital lobby he was well dressed, confident, and walked to me and said "Hello Doctor" before I had chance to say anything and I knew that moment, no matter what played role in this man's transformation I knew I wanted to be part of process that mde it happen, beacuse to me it was unbeleivable.

During the psychiatric evaluaton doctor has always to be patient and actively listen to the patient, to make a proper doctor- patient realionship, so that patient can share his feeling what's going in his body and brain and what's he thinking.
