Yeager modeled essential traits for pilots during the early days of aviation. Tom Wolfe presents Chuck Yeager as a skilled and fearless pilot with a strong sense of determination, self-confidence, and resilience, highlighting the crucial role of these traits in Yeager's successful accomplishment of complex and risky tasks, and in shaping his image as a hero of the aerospace industry.
