The article discusses each of the six approaches most commonly used in early childhood education. The six approaches are Bank Street, Head Start, High/Scope, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf. Bank Street promotes competence, individuality, and socialization in children. Head Start emphasizes on physical, intellectual, and emotional development for ages 0 to 5 years old. High/Scope pushes the method of teachers’ and children’s work go hand-in hand. This means the children provide the ideas, and the teachers’ make it happen.
