Explain Why Teachers Should Not Have Access To Guns In Schools Essay

Teachers should not be armed or have access to hands guns at school. It is inappropriate for teachers to be seen armed in public areas in front of students because it can affect the student?s well-being. This is a problem that needs to be dealt with! Children do not have fully developed brains, so why make them fear for their lives. Consequently, if children are focused on survival it can affect how they perform during school. Moreover, it can affect how the children interact with others. The Australian Bureau of statistics states that teachers that have access to guns will more likely commit murder than a terrorist.

Firstly, a child?s mental health can be dramatically tampered with. This is because, as Curtin University has stated that, children do not have fully developed brains until the age of 22. Mental health involves the way people think. Now if children are mistaking the guns as a threat instead of being used for their protection, children can become fearful and traumatized. People have adaptive mindsets, this means children as well, so we do not want them to think that life itself should be feared, we won them to think positively! Vocational health is how you perform, henceforth, if children are so focused on the terrible situations, they will not have the ability to focus during school. Would you want children?s education to be affected? Children have been informed by their parents about stranger danger but they are not being informed or prepared for a disaster involving a dispute between a teacher and student, what will they do? We do not want to put the extra stress on children to look out for more suspicious people. How will this exposure cause the child to react?
