The Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts in 1620. But by then,Jamestown,a riverside colony in Virginia, was already 13 years old. Even before the pilgrims landed, Jamestown had became a hub of the first sustained class between English people and Native Americans, seat of the representative government in the Western Hemisphere, where the Native American to arrive with chains for English people. The first diverse and democracy colony was in a country of the united state of America was known as Jamestown. The Jamestown settlers was settled in Virginia.
It is not easy living off a teacher’s salary. With the salary cuts, and the pressure to purchase their own classroom supplies, teachers will be unable to maintain a comfortable lifestyle. This is all due to the government's irresponsibility. Instead of cutting salaries, the government should focus on increasing them.
By the author using factual sources, he made it so people view him as a credible source and will agree with his opinion. Richwine first discussed the topic of finding qualified teacher and how hard the process is getting and that raising the salary was not be able to resolve the problem, “Even without the tenure obstacle, putting the best teachers in the classroom is a more challenging problem than many reformers will admit. One of the most common reformist prescriptions is raising teacher pay to attract stronger applicants. The logic seems simple, even obvious. But raising teacher pay will not work.”
Teachers are one of the important person in a child’s life they will need show them how the outside world works and the instruments needed to be successful once they graduate and further their education. In the article “A New Deal for Teachers” by Matthew Miller, he states that the quality and shortage of teachers in communities where the system is not great will have an impact on our future generation. We must find some ways to improve the system and Miller gives two examples of this. I agree with Millers plan because teachers are able to provide the skills needed to help the children succeed but with the shortage of teachers many won’t get the right education. Millers solution is to upgrade the skills of those who been teaching for a long time but at the same time helping the new teachers who don’t have the experience.
This data along with data from other cities such as Chicago where only 0.1% of teachers between 2005 and 2008 were dismissed for performance-related circumstances, proves that in the united stated the public school system is broken and in need of help as stated in “Waiting for
Charter schools are a different type of school that is helpful to some students but not all. What a charter school is, they are privately managed, taxpayer funded schools which are made up from the community. However charter schools are not like private schools they are in fact outlined after public schools. Charter schools are for students who want to achieve a high level education. The schools are open to all children, they don’t charge tuition and there are no special requirements for them to attend.
A decline in literacy, an inability to recruit qualified college graduates for teaching positions, unequal access to educational resources, stagnant compensation for teachers, and many more issues all play a part in the decline of public education (Edsall 1). However, one of the biggest and worsening problems within the education system is the sharp decline of qualified people to fill teaching positions. Researchers have found that there are at least 36,000 vacant teaching positions and at least 163,000 teaching positions that are being filled by underqualified teachers (Edsall 2). Schools are continuing to adopt harder academic standards, and the teachers are left scrambling to try and make their own curriculum with little to no helpful resources on hand (Will 1). One of the biggest reasons why there are fewer and fewer teachers in the education field is the lack of adequate pay for their important jobs and responsibilities (Toch 2).
Although there are teachers that deserve to be tenured and put their effort into teaching but since the time to become tenured is so short, it makes it difficult to actually know if they (teachers) are good at their jobs and if they aren’t good at their job it calls for lots of money and time to get them fired. Allowing teachers to be tenured so soon is a positive for the school systems. Teachers are promised secure and stable jobs when granted the status (tenured) is given; it’s a clear justification that their style of teaching is working. As teachers are
problem lies in the fact that most public schools have fixed costs from heating costs to teaching staff that cannot easily be adjusted or downscaled when a few students leave in a given year. The result equates to “squeezed funding at traditional public schools” (Daniel Simmons Ritchie). School choice is not necessary.
Ethan Marshall Year round schools Mr.Reynolds 4/1/16 Can you imagine after a couple of weeks of school having a 2-4 week break? Wouldn 't that be awesome? You could go to Disney or Kalahari without a lot of people being there. That 's the case in year round schools. I am for year round schools because they have a lot of breaks and they have extra opportunities.
“The very thought of sending kids to school year-round makes some parents cringe” (Scholastic). In year-round school, schools continue to operate a hundred and eighty days per year, but they stretch out the hundred and eighty days over the entire year and take shorter breaks between each term. Year-round schools have become increasingly common, both as an academic improvement strategy and as a solution to student and teacher burnout. Student and teacher burnout is when the student or teacher is highly stressed or completely exhausted. Year-round schooling is not necessarily the same as expanded learning time.

Teacher pay needs to be increased. Programs need like the North Carolina Teaching Fellow Scholarship Program need to be increased especially if there are over two thousand applicants for five hundred scholarships that shows people are
Every country should recall sacrifices made by their leaders and history created by them. Where a significant number of people consider that placing advertisements in schools is a huge resource for public schools for additional funding drastically, although some might argue that it exploits children by treating them as a captive audience for corporate sponsors. This essay will discuss about the both pros and cons on this topic.
