Year round schools have the same amount of days but the breaks are spread out differently. School districts can switch to year round school because of overcrowding. There should not be yea round school in any school district.
Year-round schooling can cause students to become more stressed out versus traditional schooling. As we have seen the different pros and cons, I would like to firmly state that public year-round schooling shouldn’t be implemented in our education system. I do not believe in it for our current generation or any future ones. Many students do not need the strict structure of year-round schooling, as they are becoming increasingly smarter. Year-round schooling, like many other ideas, has its pros and cons but can be steadily confirmed as ineffective.
Doing year round schooling students are still getting their typical 180 days of schooling, they are just broken up into different sections instead of just having the normal, and holiday, breaks. I don’t think that schools should switch to the Year round Schooling schedules because they are hard to transfer to for one, and for two they take away from the lives of students, teachers, and families. Some issues that come with the year round schooling is how it affects students lives outside of school, the students can end up at different paces in their schooling because of the different school start times, and all the inconveniences for the community’s along with the student’s. Year-round school usually has 45 days of school and then a 15 day break. But there is no summer break like traditional school. This leaves teachers with a little over two weeks to prepare for next school year. If teachers have to change their decorations or update their curriculum, they have barely enough or not enough time to prepare for a new year. This would put teachers in a hard situation and would not give them time to be with their family.
Year-round school should be every school's schedule. First off, students will forget important information over a long break. Every year when school starts up again after summer the kids who don’t read or do academic related work during the long break reading levels go down and they forget so much information needed for the next year. Adding to that year-round school can make breaks smaller and help your kid from having a “summer slide”. The students brains will feel more refreshed and caught up if they are put in a year-round school schedule.
The biggest change is that President Obama is changing the traditional school calendar from 10 months school to 12 months of school. Also “some year -round schools offer optional classes during vacation weeks”(14).Also “all summer days are often spent indoors,playing video games and watching TV” page 15. Districts should consider changing the school calendar to an all year program. There are many reasons why schools should have 12 months school.they are : ”Firstly, a 12 month program keeps , learning process ongoing with minimal disruption.
I think schools should last all year long making three things very helpful for students. First, I thing school should last all year long teachers should give students writing suggestions for the next year. For example before some schools did not have any activities or future vision or development are schools. Second, I think school should give gifts to students that go to school all year long. There are students that can give gifts honoring.
