Hi, my name is Christe Jackson and I am thrilled to apply to the Family Nurse Practitioner certificate program. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Drexel University and my Master’s of Science in Nursing from West Chester University. Throughout my career I have always considered furthering my education as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) as I discovered early on in my professional career that I enjoy working with patients across the lifespan. As I continued my career in that setting, I transitioned to management and my responsibilities changed, I now had to be fiscally responsible, educate and supervise staff and continue providing quality care. The transition was effortless as I evolved easily into the role and even though I enjoyed what I did fully, I still had a desire to work with the pediatric population. My passion for nursing was influenced by top tier nursing professionals through personal interaction with midwives and nurses. I witnessed the selfless work and dedication that the practitioners provided to their patients and I knew immediately that I wanted to help as many people as possible in the same way one day, however, learning the foundation of my current practice as a registered nurse was a priority for me at the time.
