Those who are in a mental institution program should be taken seriously and not be treated as if they were invisible. People usually do not get the help they need because they do not know where to start and the job of the nurses and doctors are to take care of them. A mental illness does not go away on its own, it is something that the person has to work on even if it is a long process, the progress will be made. People are terrified of what will happen to them or what others think of them, which means everyone needs to make them feel comfortable or else their journey to getting the cure will not be overcomed. People cannot accept their serious illness, but doctors should be able to accept helping them out and supporting them.

A personal philosophy of nursing allows nurses to guide and shape their practice. As Molzahn & Shields states, "we are in the privileged position of working closely with human beings and helping them deal with many aspects of the human condition" (2008, p.25). By working daily with patients who all have distinct and unique healthcare experiences, I believe that it is crucial to have a set of values and ethics that guide how we care for our patients. By holding Christian beliefs and values, I believe that it is important to care for other people the way Jesus cares for us, and to take time to notice the little glimpses of Christ shown in other people. When thinking about how I can have an impact on my patients, I keep in mind that "for most people, most of the time, God comes to us in the valleys and plains of life" (Doornbos, Groenhout, & Hotz, 2005, p.21).
Nursing, and everything that it entails, cannot be easily described in just one simple word or phrase. It goes beyond the meaning of a profession and the stereotypical definition of treating the ill. Nursing is the “protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations” (American Nurses Association, 2010, p. 1). Therefore, it is a career that requires dedication, passion, critical thinking, and knowledge. It demands commitment and an understanding of its core values and concepts, as well as the nurse’s own personal philosophy and principles.
Nurses are critical for promoting health in the society. The profession is highly flexible, since they specialize in diverse operations in the medical field. Introduction Florence Nightingale, who lived from years 1820 -1910, was one of the pioneering theorists in the nursing history. She was the first to provide a theory to improve and develop health and transform nursing from a domestic service to a permanent profession. Since a young age, she cared for the poor and ill people and considered nursing and serving humans as a Christian duty (Selanders, 2012). Her contribution in providing nursing care for British soldiers fighting the Crimean War and negotiating with the male worlds of both the military and medicine with her administrative skills was significant (Woodham-Smith, 1983). Nightingale founded the Nightingale Nursing School in London in 1860 and created the foundation theory for practice and education of the nursing world.
Which is harder then you think. Nurses not only take care of the sick nd injuried they are on the battlefield helping on the frontline. It may not be shooting the enemey but when you get shot the person you yell for is “Medic”. They come into or behind enemey lines just to help you. Even if they can't save your life they stay right there doing there best to do so.
