Throughout the Jacksonian era an increase in culture arose. A painting titled Farmers Nooning was created during this time period that spoke out about the time. The art piece was constructed by William Sidney Mount. Growing up on a farm in Long Island until he was 17, Mount had an understanding of what he wanted to compose. This previous life experience is portrayed in his artwork, for he was known to show the rustic side of life. This particular art piece, Farmers Nooning, was made in 1836, while Mount was 29. The painting somewhat broke the bounds of society through its message. The painting explains the daily life of civilians during the Jacksonian era. Within the artwork, the individuals either look exhausted or eager. This piece explains
