Though some people may say it was scapegoating or social Darwinism, it began with fascism. Hitlers fascist ideology was the main cause of the holocaust. Hitlers ideals put into citizens brains caused the holocaust. The ideals not only amplified a hatred of Jewish people but caused it to escalate to a mass genocide. The holocaust could have been prevented or at least mitigated it to an extent.
