Fate In the book “Freak the Mighty” there are lots of events that involve Fate. Including when Kevin and Max are reunited. That was not luck in my opinion that was fate. Also when freak dies, it was bound to happen eventually and he was going to die no matter what anyone thought.

It was the day before Valentine’s Day, and all of the children in the second grade classroom had joyful smiles on their faces. By continuing he finds his true inner strength. Fate is defined as something that simply just happens or “Falls upon your lap without any help or actions”. It’s a gesture that is not thought about because when it come it just come without your inner thought or “permission”. While freewill is the opposite, it’s defined as something you as a person caused upon yourself, the actions you did was the reason you are in the situation and you can’t blame anyone but yourself, it’s thought of as the inner consciousness of a person or the permission to give one’s self. Fate vs. Freewill is what causes this novel to be so powerful because as Oprah stated “ When you hear this story, it’s going to turn the way you think and free will and fate upside down.” I believe that Oprah Winfey made this claim
Santiago was shocked by what he saw in the oasis because it is not like what he was imagined. “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure,” cautions Paulo Coelho in The Alchemist. Everyone has dreams but not everyone dares to make them come true. One of my dreams is I want to study abroad and experience other cultures. Applying KGSP scholarship is my first step to achieve my dream. In my quest for a suitable graduate program, I was thrilled to learn that Food and Nutrition Department at Yonsei University offers a graduate curriculum that match my need.
Do you believe in religion or luck, or are you simply a person guided by science and mathematics. The Alchemist, a novel written by Paulo Coelho speaks of such ideas as fate, religion, and omens predicting the future. The book, due to its use of logic and ethos provides valid reasoning to support the idea that people are not in control of their own fate. Nearly every religion in the world is based on a being that can control or influence one’s fate.
If you bring love to that moment not discouragement you will find the strength there. " That quote goes well when Santiago decides to persuade with finding his legend even though he could of went back as a rich shepherd, instead he followed with it and went to Egypt, got all his stuff stolen, and

THERE is, and always has been, a widespread belief in Fate, or Destiny, that is, in an eternal and inscrutable Power which apportions definite ends to both individuals and nations. This belief has arisen from long observation of the facts of life. Men are conscious that there are certain occurrences which they cannot control, and are powerless to avert. Birth and death, for instance, are inevitable, and many of the incidents of life appear equally inevitable.
The decision was difficult as both options don’t provide him a steady choice. As being a shepherd does not promise him to be with the merchant daughter and for finding a treasure he need to give up his well settled life. But at the end he chose to find treasure as it allows him to purse his personal legend or dram of travelling throughout the world. He always considers his choice before taking a decision this can be seen through this conversation of Santiago with himself, “Here, I am between my flock and my treasure, the boy thought. He had to choose between something he had become accustomed to and something he wanted to have.
Fate, by definition, is the universal principle by which the order of things is seemingly prescribed. (Webster) Essentially, fate is events that are inevitable that we have no power to change. It is debatable that fate exists among everyone; however, humans are subject to making their own choices- free will. No matter what choices people make, they do not change our fate.
As Douglas Everett once said,"There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other. " What this essentially means is that there are people who live in dreams, the other’s live in mind and there are some who believe that true meaning of living exists in following their dreams so they try to make their dreams reality. I agree with this quote because some people just dream about things and leave it; while, others don’t believe in dreams at all. Then there are some people who actually try to convert their dreams into reality because they think that dreams are for a reason. This quote is best designed for Paulo Coelho book titled “The Alchemist” as Santiago constantly works to convert his dream into reality
The book's main theme is about discovery of someone's fate. The Alchemist is "more self-help than literature." An old man tells to Santiago that, "when you really want something to happen, the whole universe will unite so that your wish comes true. " This is the main philosophy of the novel and a theme that plays all during Coelho's writing in ‘The Alchemist’. The change in this book is that we should never give up in order to achieve our dreams.
