A relationship in a hurry will never end well. This idea comes true in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. The play is about two star-crossed lovers who take their lives. The play takes place in a city named Verona in Italy where two rival families have a massive feud that has been going on for years and years. Nobody knows why but they still hate each other, but these two lovers who meet are from these families their love is ended because of the feud and all of this happens in five days. The main characters consist of Romeo, Juliet, Nurse, Friar, Tybalt, Mercutio the Capulets and the Montagues, and Fate. But Romeo, Juliet, and fate are to blame for the tragedy that occurred.

Fate never intended to have Romeo and Juliet together, which led to the unfortunate ending that occurred. An example of Fate not wanting the lovers together is when it states, “From forth the fatal loins of these two foes, a pair of star-crossed lovers take their life, whose misadventure piteous overthrows doth, with their death, bury their parents' strife” (1. Prolauge.6). This quote describes how fate did not want Romeo and Juliet together. This shows that he wanted them to die if they got together. And because of them falling in love Fate kills them. Another way that shows Fate is to blame is when Romeo states, “I fear to early, for my mind misgives Some consequence yet hanging in the stars Shall bitterly begin his fearful date With this night's revels and expire the term Of a despised life closed in my breast By some vile forfeit of untimely death” (1.4.106-111). This shows Fate through the words of Romeo when Romeo says “Hanging in the stars” this shows fate, and because of this Romeo gets a bad feeling about going to the party which was like a warning from him to not go. This shows that Fate in dee did not want Romeo to find Juliet because Fate knew they would fall in love. And the final reason Fate is to blame is because he made these lovers star crossed which meant they were indeed never meant to be together causing the whole tragedy to
