In the United States 68% of the population fears death. The other 32% are just too tough to admit that they are scared(fear/phobia statistics).well that’s my opinion anyways. Lots of people are scared of death more than half of the percent of America. I myself can say that I fear death it is a scary thought to not know the unknown. I do not know how that 32% is not scared of death but in this essay I will be telling you about the fears of death. In the story “The Pardoner’s Tale” the fear of death was shown by one old man that was trying to explain to the men that death would catch them and he never failed. The men were only worried about the wealth and they got to caught up in it and they all ended up killing each other over the money. Death did catch up to them in a very harsh and dumb way. The closest I have came to death was in the car crash I was in my Sophomore year where I rolled my truck but besides that I haven’t had any scary things like that happen. I am mainly scared of what it will be like right before I die like whether or not I will be super scared and if I will die painfully and suffering or whether I die instantly. My great grandpa (Popop) died the exact way he wanted to, in his sleep. I hope I die doing something really really awesome. So this is my final paragraph, I have told you about two stories and some real life experiences and my opinion on this topic. I think that everyone fears death because it is going into the unknown not knowing what comes next. Death is a mystery and nobody can tell you what it’s like because you can talk to a dead person but they will most definitely not talk back. I am really scared to die and enter the unknown not having any advice on what will happen
