I think the main point of Barry’s essay was to convince the readers the importance of school. I think this because in her essay there are many instances where she brings up the importance of school in children’s lives, like when Barry ran away from home and ended up going to school in the morning. She explains how school can be an escape for some children. How you meet the staff at a school and become comfortable with your surroundings, allowing you to flourish. Barry goes to explain how the education system is saving lives, and the country doesn’t realize it.
