After watching the movie, “The Return of Cuyahoga River” I was blown away by all of the history, facts, ignorance, and activism displayed in this film. There was so much information packed into this documentary. Information about this 100-mile long river that curves north and then south as it u’s along Lake Erie, and how in “1827 U.S. citizens changed the Cuyahoga River for the first time.” It was originally a swampy marsh infested with mosquitos and caused problems for the city of Cleveland Ohio. Cleveland was a small lazy town until the mouth of the river was widened by humans allowing for mercantile boats to pass by their town.

The film Babies demonstrates areas of socialization and development that are etic and emic between countries. Therefore, this paper will examine how the countries are similar and different in their practices of raising babies allowing the observer to see if it impacts their overall development. First of all, in the four countries observed, Namibia, Japan, Mongolia, and the United States, there were areas that were universal in the development of the babies. All of the mothers performed basic tasks to ensure the survival of the babies. These include feeding, cleaning, sleeping, providing shelter, and comforting the babies.
Boyhood is a 2014 American drama film directed and written by Richard Linklater. It is a coming of age story. The film was created over 12-year span with the same people. It includes among 2002-2013. Basically, the movie is about a young boy named Mason and his family.
The short documentary “Child of Rage” presents an example of how experiencing abuse as a child can shape the child later in life and how some children can recover. The intrafamilial abuse that Beth experienced as a one year old affected her behavior later in her childhood when she was adopted. Beth was also able to recover from some of the effects of the child abuse she experienced once she was separated from her adoptive family and taken to a special home. Beth experienced intrafamilial abuse at the hands of her biological father after her mother passed away when she was one.

Directed by Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time), Wolf Children tells the story about the love and dedication of a single parent. Our story covers thirteen years, as nineteen-year-old college student Hana, quickly falls in love with a mysterious “wolf man”, the last to inherit the blood of both wolves and humans, who was attending her classes. Despite his differences, Hana’s love shines through as they marry, and bear two children; an older sister, Yuki, born a snowy day. And a younger brother, Ame, born on a rainy day (The Japanese words for snow and rain are “yuki” and “ame” respectively). The family lives peacefully in the city until the wolf man suddenly dies, and Hana is forced to raise two wolf children on her own, facing not only the stress of being a single parent, but the stress of the fact that she has no wolves to turn to about her children’s other halves.
