Rose Burnett Bonczek directed DNA, which had excellent performances by the cast portraying characters in very unique situation. All the actors were very well trained and knew exactly what to do at all times, which made the play very interesting. There was one actress who I could clearly tell was a master at her craft, Annabelle Rose Mayock who plays Leah. Even though all the actors were greater at their roles, Annabelle was a cut above the rest. Her portrayal of Leah was excellent and me believe that I was watching a Broadway quality play. "In mastering the art of concentration, you're developing an essential life skill" (page 8). Annabelle Rose Mayock has mastered the art of concentration in my opinion based on the performance she gave. To be a master of something requires much practice and patients and I believe Annabelle has put in the time and effort necessary to master concentration. I would believe this confidence stems from continuously practicing her role. Everything that came out of her mouth, every movement, every emotion, every expression, seemed like it had purpose behind it. Inhibitions causes you to be nervous and lose confidence in yourself, Annabelle exhibited no signs of having any inhibitions what so ever. She seemed very relaxed on stage and knew the character she was playing inside and out. Annabelle plays Leah who can be best described as a semi psychotic, attention seeking, and a thoughtful and caring all rolled up in to one person. Her character seemed to have multiple personalities and Annabelle seem to be prepared to exhibit any personality of her character when necessary. For most of the play Annabelle plays a character that would described as being out of mind, towards the end she seems to be the only character thinking clearly. As her personality and character changes so does the way she speaks. When she's acting crazy the pitch in her voice is higher and she is taking very fast. When she's thinking clearly the pitch in her voice is lower and she's talking much slower. All the action that Annabelle’s doing onstage to play her
