Energy demands have been steadily increasing in parallel with the world population. Alternative energy is harnessing energy from another source in environmentally friendly ways resulting in energy that is clean and sustainable with low carbon emitters. I believe alternative energy is the future as it can exceed supply of fossil fuels. Price volatility is occurring in recent time due to over consumption, supply and demand. Today, fossil fuel prices have dropped significantly and this will pose a threat to the global economy. Therefore, countries are trying to rely on other options of energy to solve an environmental and economic problems that have an unprecedented impact on the world. The world energy consumption is still rising with demographic changes. The dominant source of energy for most countries is a fossil fuel. 86% of consumption fossil fuel in the world includes 41% of petroleum, 25% coal and 20% from natural gas. All these sources are unsustainable and cause of global warming. Recent studies show that coal will run out before 2126 but natural gas can be enough for 55 years and crude oil for 53 years. Due to fossil fuel consumption significantly, the world is now suffering from global warming and pollution due to the toxic gases emitted from factories in the air. Fossil fuels have considerable implications in terms of contaminating all the natural resources around us. It reduces the proportion of oxygen in the air and increases proportion of carbon in the air, soil, and oceans.
