Social Media has undeniably changed the world in both positive and negative ways.
Social media is the most popular international source of communication that impacts culture, economy, and everyone’s overall view of the world.
The development of technology has greatly improved communication techniques in almost every aspect of human life, but as said in an article focused on the effects social media has on communication, “Newer technologies, such as the Internet, cell phones, and social networking sites, have added hours to the amount of time the average child spends with media” (“Children, Adolescents, and the Media”). Social media spreads news quicker than any local news outlets in major events. Some examples of this happening are the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado in 2012, the Boston marathon bombing in 2013, and the death of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe. After the Boston bombing, the FBI released the photos of two suspects online. These pictures immediately went viral.
